Windsor Goodfellows Footwear Program for Children in Windsor – Essex County

Footwear Program

Every school year, from September to June, the Windsor Goodfellows provide vouchers for a new pair of running shoes or winter boots to children from JK to grade 8, in partnership with Karen’s 4or Kids, through our footwear program. To receive the voucher, parents can request an application letter from their child’s school.

Taking a Step in the Right Direction:

The Windsor Goodfellows Footwear Program Provides New Shoes and Winter Boots to Children in Need

In a country as prosperous as Canada, a child should never have to go without basic necessities such as shoes and/or winter boots. Through the Windsor Goodfellows footwear program, hundreds of pairs of new winter boots and running shoes are provided each school year. Typically, the Windsor Goodfellows spend approximately $90,000 to $100,000 annually to provide shoes and boots to children in need in the community through our footwear program.

Below are the steps for how the footwear program works at the Windsor Goodfellows:

  • The parent/guardian contacts their child’s school to request an application for the Windsor Goodfellows Footwear Program
  • The principal fills out the application and gives it to the parent/guardian
  • The parent/guardian delivers the application to the Windsor Goodfellows
  • Once the application is approved, the parent/guardian will receive a voucher that can be used to purchase running shoes or winter boots at Karen’s 4or Kids for their child.
